Why Martingale?
Martingale refers both a betting system and a concept within probability theory - it just seemed fittingWhat is a fanzine?
In this context we're using the term 'fanzine' or, zine, to describe a small, self published publication devoted to a singular topic created by fans! This publication will be a collection of fanworks including fanart and fanfiction by different artists and authors. Will this zine include AU content?
Yes! After a lot of consideration, we've decided to allow AU content in MARTINGALE - since they're two characters with limited screen time we don't to limit the creativity of our contributors! But we do intend to balance canon/canon adject and AU content. Is this zine Aventurine/Ratio or Ratio/Aventurine?
While this distinction doesn't matter as much in SFW pieces, we know it will come into play in the NSFW add on to the zine, so we want to be very clear from the jump that this is a fully switch zine, and we are going to be encouraging both and all dynamics. The zine is non profit, will contributors be paid?
Yes!!! We're very passionate about the fact that creatives deserve to be paid for their time and contributions, so as a a part of our budgeting we are going to be allotting funds to pay each contributor - and any "profit" past that pay and production costs will be donated to charity! What Charity will this zine be supporting?
This is still TBD! One of the founders of this zine works with a company that does donation matching, so we're going to research the charities they work with to decide on both a US charity and an international charity that buyers can choose between for their purchase to support.
We don't want anyone, contributors or buyers, to feel dupped into working with a charity they can't get behind so we'll be sure to make this determination before contributors are locked in!
